ADHESIVES

BOND LOC ADHESIVE

 
Bond Loc is specifically designed for quick and easy application of the final course of cap on retaining walls and steps.

Rule of thumb – one 330 ml tubes can create 9.8 m (32 ft) of ¼” bead. It is recommended that either two beads be applied (front/back) or an S bead be used.

Read preparation and application instructions provided by manufacturer prior to use.

BUTYL TAPE

Butyl tape is a self adhesive pre-formed peel and stick material. When changes may need to be made to the layout of your retaining wall, butyl tape is the recommended alternative to Bond Loc.

Rule of thumb – one 6 metre ( 20’ ) role can secure 3 metres ( 10’ ) of capping, assuming a double bead is used. 

Prior to use, sweep top of units.  Then simply apply the ribbon of tape to the area which is to be secured to, press firmly along the entire length of the release paper backing, cut the tape to length, and remove the release paper.

FILTER CLOTH

(NON WOVEN)

Mirafi 140 N is a nonwoven geotextiles comprised of polypropylene staple fibers, and provide excellent physical and hydraulic properties in addition to high tensile strengths.

140N is recommended in retaining wall installations to provide separation between the drainage layer and native soil.

FILTER CLOTH

(WOVEN)

Mirafi 500 XL is a UV stabilized woven polypropylene. 

500XL is recommended under interlocking paver installations to provide both separation (between the granular base and the native sub-grade soils) and load distribution.

GEO GRID
Miragrid® XT geogrids are high strength, high tenacity, high molecular weight polyester geogrids in a range of tensile strengths to meet the most demanding applications for soil reinforcement.

JOINT STABILIZERS

Jointing Sands are specifically designed to ensure effective interlock between paving stones, but still provide some flexibility for the overall system to expand and contract.

Regular jointing sand is a maufactured dry bagged sand that complies with CSA A23.2. 

Stabilized jointing sand includes an organic compound that is water activated to form an adhesive gel that bonds the sand particles together.
