Angle Iron is a piece of iron that forms a right angle and is used to span openings and support masonry at the openings. In brick veneer, they are also used to secure the veneer to the foundation.

BAGGED MATERIALS

Concrete
mix is perfect for pouring concrete pads 2 (50 mm) thick
or more, and building or repairing anything made out of concrete.
Being a properly blended mixture of portland cement, sand, and gravel,
all the user has to do is add water.

Sand (topping)
mix is used for applications where a concrete pad is less than
2 (50 mm) thick. Sand mix consists of portland cement and
graded sand.
Sand mix can
also be used for patching and topping chipped concrete surfaces,
or in conjunction with an acrylic fortifier for repairs less than
1 (25 mm) thick. Sand mix can also be used for laying flagstone.

Mortar mix
is used for laying brick, block or stone. Being a premixed blend
of masonry type cement and graded sand, all the user needs to do
is add water.
Mortar mix is
also used for repointing existing brick, block or stone walls. It
is a long lasting, strong bonding mortar.

Type
10 Portland Cement a general purpose cement suitable for all
uses where the special properties of other types are not required.
Type N Mortar
Cement Medium strength mortar for general use such as in
exposed non load-bearing masonry walls above grade and in tuck-pointing.
Type S Mortar
Cement - Recommended where a higher compressive strength mortar
is required, such as for parging, foundation walls and walls designed
with reinforcement.

Cedar Heights
Airfloated Clay is a specially designed admix for combination
with Portland or masonry cement to produce high quality mortars or
parging. The clay acts as a lubricating medium that provides plasticity
without excess water. The mortar spreads and floats with minimum drag
on the trowel.

MORTAR COLOUR
Mortar can be nearly 20% of the total surface area of a wall, therefore a change in mortar colour will effect the overall tone of the wall.
SGS Mortar Colors are provided in unique pre-weighed and measured amounts to assure the most accurate color consistency available. Our A, H, and X series offer over 50 standard colors, all pre-measured for use in mortar and other mixes.

WALCO SILLS
Our Walco Sills are 6” deep, either 2 3/8” or 3 1/2“ inches thick, and cut to the desired length(s). Drips are provided on the base of the sills to stop water from returning to the wall

WIRING AND FASTENERS
ANCHOR BOLTS

Anchor Bolts are used to fasten columns, girders or other members to concrete or masonry.
Brown’s Concrete carries an 8" by ½” anchor bolt. Each bolt comes with a nut and flat washer.

BLOCK WIRE REINFORCING

|
Brown’s carries the full line of Blok-Lok® wire reinforcing (mill galvanized, 9 gauge), including ladder and truss formats for 4” through 12” blocks.
Reinforcing is sold in bundles of 250 feet.

BRICK TIES

|
Brick Ties are used to: connect multiple wythes of masonry, often of different materials; anchor masonry veneer to backing systems other than masonry; and, connect composite masonry walls.
Brown’s Concrete carries a 22 gauge tie which is 7” long by 1” wide.
